Storms provide great subject matter for photography, as they capture some of natures most intense and extreme moments. Storms often involve fantastic lighting, huge shadows, and a massive scale of energy. They have the ability to make us feel very small in relation to the world, so it can be very difficult to capture this greatness in a photograph. However, the following 25 examples do just that! Each of these photos has something special to offer, and I hope that they inspire you in your work today.

    Most of these are really nice. I love this type of photography. Some of the skies are rich and fierce and I love all of the water scenery!

    Nice set of images, Weathers been a bit gloomy here in the UK, Lol appropriate time for these images, maybe a blog of paradise images cheer up the mood?

    amazing timely captured photography, may be some of these belong to movies because there is amazing reality which is not possible in real life.

    Vim: Yeah I’m really not liking the weather here at the moment. I’ll definitely think about posting images of perfect weather, although that may just make people feel worse :P

    Dzinepress: Thanks for your comment! I agree that some of the photos have a movie like quality to them, but I can assure you that they are all captured from real life. I guess it just goes to show how amazing nature can be.
